ICPC vows to prosecute suspects over theft of 13,350 diapers at Kebbi hospital
The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has launched an investigation into the theft of 13,350 diapers meant for antenatal care at a Primary Health Centre in Sambawa, Kebbi State.
The commission has vowed to prosecute those involved in the criminal conduct, ensuring that the suspects are brought to book.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the incident occurred at a facility that was supposed to provide essential healthcare services to the community, sparking concerns about corruption and mismanagement.
The ICPC’s investigation comes as the agency hosts a conference themed “Engendering Corruption-Free Primary Health Care Delivery For All,” highlighting the need for transparency and accountability in the healthcare sector.
The stolen diapers were intended for expectant mothers receiving antenatal care at the centre, raising questions about the motives behind the theft and the impact on the community’s health and well-being.
