Halima Abubakar begs for financial help amid health struggles, Nollywood betrayal
On Tuesday, February 18, 2025, Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar shared an emotional and distressing video on her Instagram page, appealing for financial assistance as she struggles to make ends meet. In the video, Halima appeared visibly ill, frail, and pale, her voice filled with emotion as she tearfully spoke about the challenges she is facing.
Halima, who has been battling serious health issues following her suspension from Nollywood in October 2024, revealed that her blood pressure was at a concerning level of 157. She opened up about the toll this has taken on her, both physically and emotionally, as she accused her colleagues and even her best friend of betrayal.
In the video, she said, “People are confused about what is happening. I’m not feeling fine up till now; I’m just good at being strong. I’m just pretending as if I’m okay. This is the real me because every day you see me post pictures with the TikTok filter, but this is how I look.”
She further shared her frustration with the medical and emotional challenges she is facing, stating, “I go to a Turkish hospital, which is the biggest in Nigeria, but this is not me. I don’t just know. You sacked me from Nollywood, but what’s all this betrayal about?”
Halima also disclosed that she had been in the village for more than a year due to her health issues, but had recently relocated for medical check-ups. Despite going through several tests and treatments, including multiple MRIs, Halima revealed that she still faces uncertainty about her health and financial stability.
“My BP is 157. What am I thinking? My own best friend said I am lying to the public, and we are not even living in the same place. You didn’t come to check on me even once,” she lamented.
The actress also expressed deep heartache over her extended absence from Nollywood, revealing, “It’s over 6 years since I have appeared in a movie. What else do you guys want? Do you want me to die or kill myself? I am heartbroken. Can’t you all see how I look?”
Halima’s tearful plea has resonated with many of her followers, who have expressed their sympathy and support for the actress during this difficult time.
