Fulani group urges pastoralists to respect farmers’ crops and promote peace
On Friday, December 6, the Kullen Allah Cattle Rearers Association of Nigeria (KACRAN) urged all pastoralists to be careful and avoid damaging farmers’ crops to help keep the peace between the two groups.
In a statement, KACRAN’s National President, Khalil Moh’d Bello, emphasized the importance of working together peacefully. He said, “It is imperative that we respect the hard work of our agricultural communities, as their efforts are vital to the food security of our nation.”
Bello encouraged pastoralists to go about their activities in the calmest and most peaceful way possible. “We appeal to all members to be law-abiding citizens. Upholding the law is crucial for maintaining order and security in our communities,” he said.
Bello also praised the Yobe State government for organizing important security meetings with pastoralists, and called on herders to support the government and security forces in their efforts to maintain peace.
“Together, we can build a safer environment for all,” Bello added.
