The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, claiming that his incompetence has been revealed by the ongoing fuel scarcity in the country.
In a statement released by CUPP Spokesperson Comrade Mark Adebayo, the group expressed frustration over the situation, stating that while the country suffers, Tinubu and his cabinet seem indifferent.
Adebayo said, “The Coalition of United Political Parties views the current fuel scarcity as a deliberate act by the failing APC government to increase fuel prices even more, worsening the already dire situation for Nigerians.”
He criticized the government for failing to provide a reasonable explanation for the persistent fuel shortages and accused it of lacking solutions to the problems it has created.
“We assert that this government is led by a group of incompetent, unpatriotic individuals who are more interested in their own gain than in addressing the suffering of the people,” he continued. “Their focus is on satisfying their own greed, leaving Nigerians to bear the burden.”
Adebayo also demanded that the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) explain its massive debt of over Nine Trillion Naira to fuel suppliers, who are now threatening to halt fuel supplies. He warned that if the fuel crisis worsens, it could further damage the already poor security situation, economic stability, and lead to additional social problems.
He added, “President Tinubu and his team seem to be oblivious to the crisis, with their incompetence now apparent through their erratic policies. Their handling of the country has exposed their lack of preparation for governance.”
“The Tinubu administration appears to be more interested in undermining Nigeria than in fulfilling its duties. In every aspect, this administration has failed, and there is no quick fix for their failures over the past fifteen months.”
Adebayo concluded that it is clear President Tinubu did not adequately prepare for the responsibilities of leadership but merely sought the position of president.
