The family of George Baldock has confirmed the tragic death of the former Premier League player, expressing their deep shock at the loss of the ex-Sheffield United defender.
In a brief statement, they said, “We can confirm that George has sadly passed away. As a family, we are in shock at this terrible loss. We ask please that the media respect our privacy at this time.”
Baldock was discovered unresponsive in his swimming pool at his home in Greece on Wednesday, October 9. The 31-year-old had recently left English football to join Greek club Panathinaikos during the summer transfer window.
