Fulham midfielder Willian has shared his prediction ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup quarter-final match between Chelsea and Palmeiras.
The two teams will face off at Lincoln Financial Field in the United States on Saturday, July 5, 2025.
Chelsea reached the quarter-finals after a convincing 4-1 victory over Benfica in the Round of 16, while Palmeiras secured their spot by narrowly defeating Botafogo 1-0.
Willian, who previously played for Chelsea, expects a tough battle but believes the Blues will advance to the semi-final.
“I think [the Chelsea vs Palmeiras] will be a hotly contested match,” Willian said in an interview with FIFA’s website.
“Of course, depending on how it pans out, such as if there is an early goal, it could become more comfortable for Chelsea, which was the case for Bayern against Flamengo.
“It won’t be an easy game, but I do think Chelsea will get through in the end.”
