Famakin and Cubana chief priest embroiled in heated online feud over restaurant review

A heated exchange has erupted between Nigerian food critic Opeyemi Famakin and businessman Cubana Chief priest over a recent review of the latter’s restaurant in Imo State.

Famakin’s review, posted on Instagram on September 11, praised the restaurant’s outlook and aesthetics but criticized the pastries, stating they should not have been pre-made and microwaved. Chief priest initially responded graciously, thanking Famakin for visiting his restaurant and writing, “Thanks for stopping by, Foodie, stay blessed.”

However, the tone shifted on September 12, when Famakin alleged that Chief priest threatened him over his review. Famakin shared screenshots of their conversation, in which Chief priest wrote, “Karma is real, you must pay for whatsoever you sow in life. I don’t fight low lives, I leave them to karma. The business you did your wicked review for is owned by a 6 year-old.”

Chief priest then accused Famakin of hypocrisy, claiming he had asked for his burger to be microwaved and waited for it to be done before criticizing the practice in his review. “You asked them to microwave the burger for you. Stood there and waited for them to do it, then you turned around to sit down and now use it for content. If you don’t like burger microwaved, then why did you not stop them, rather you stood there to sh**t the rest of your content as you waited for them to heat up the burger as requested.”

Famakin denied the accusations, calling them lies. The exchange has sparked a heated debate on social media, with neither side showing signs of backing down.
