Falz clarifies Bobrisky’s request for help, addresses VeryDarkMan’s allegations

On Tuesday, September 24, 2024, Nigerian rapper and activist Folarin Falana, known as Falz, clarified that social media personality Bobrisky only reached out to him for financial assistance while incarcerated.

Bobrisky was sentenced to three months in prison after pleading guilty to naira mutilation, following an arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). He was released on August 5, 2024.

The controversy arose after Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, leaked an audio recording in which Bobrisky claimed that a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and his son, Falz, helped secure the dismissal of money laundering charges against him while he was in custody.

In response to the backlash from these allegations, Falz, through his legal representatives at Falana & Falana’s Chambers, denied having any discussions with Bobrisky regarding legal matters while he was imprisoned. He emphasized that Bobrisky’s request was solely for N3 million to pay officials, allowing him to stay in the VIP section of the Correctional Centre.

In a viral letter shared on social media, Falz criticized VeryDarkMan for making reckless statements that included multiple allegations against him without prior consultation.
