Ex-IGP Adamu leads in Nàsarawa guber aspirants’ poll

Former Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has maintained a lead in Nasarawa state governorship aspirants’ poll.
A statement by the organizer of the survey, TCMPoll Research and Consultancy Services on Monday said that the survey was conducted between 1st June and July 10th.
TCMPoll Research and Consultancy Services added that the survey was meant to assess public perception ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Nasarawa State and the poll was conducted to analyze the direction of the state electorates.
According to TCMPoll, the survey used SMS and specifically designed mobile web research platforms for the purpose.
“This study used a simple random sampling technique designed by TCMPoll and some databases by a third-party to sample from diverse voting-age adults from across the thirteen local government areas in the state including Akwanga, Awe, Doma, Karu, Keana, Keffi, Kokona, Lafia, Nasarawa, Nasarawa, Egon, Obi, Toto, Wamba.
“However, another aspect of interest to this poll is data from the 2023 elections as provided by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Prior to the 2023 elections, Registered voters in Nasarawa state1,899,244 were, but 1,847,752 voters’ cards were collected.
“Fourteen aspirants included David Emmanuel Ombugadu, Nuhu Angbazo, Mohammed Adamu, Silas Ali Agara, Faisal Shuaib, Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, Mohammed Hassan Abdullahi, Abdulkarim Kana, M I Haruna, Ibrahim Mohammed Ja’afar, Muhammad Ja’afaru Atekpa Ibrahim, Musa Ahmed Muhammad, M S Haruna, and Muhammed Maikaya featured in the poll,” the statement noted.
“This result shows the prevalence of the respondents across the 14 local government areas of Nasarawa state. 51.26% of the respondents show their readiness to cast their votes for Mohammed Adamu, a Former Inspector-General of Police. 11% of the respondents okayed David Emmanuel Ombugadu, the 2023 PDP governorship candidate and a former House of Reps member.
“20.31% of the respondents indicated their readiness to vote for Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada of the SDP, while 5% indicated Musa Ahmed Muhammad, Nasarawa State Accountant-General.
“However, 2% voted in favour of Ibrahim Mohammed Ja’afar – Architect and an APC member, while Abdulkarim Kana – Professor of Law and a former Nasarawa Attorney-General, got 3%.
“The remaining 7% was shared by the rest of the objects of this survey respectively.”
TCMPoll is a consultancy and social research agency based in Abuja that conducts surveys via short message service, SMS, computer-assisted telephone interviewing, CATI, computer-assisted personal interviewing, CAPI, WhatsApp, etc. TCMPoll also conducts online and offline qualitative research.
