England sweat over Marc Guehi’s fitness ahead of Norway World Cup clash

England defender Marc Guehi is facing a race against time to be fit for the Three Lions’ World Cup quarter-final against Norway after sustaining a hamstring strain.

The Manchester City centre-back picked up the injury during England’s 3-0 victory over Mexico in the Round of 16 and missed the team’s final training session in Kansas City on Thursday.

Guehi was seen walking around the edge of the pitch at England’s Swope Soccer training base but did not participate in the session with his teammates.

Despite the setback, head coach Thomas Tuchel remains hopeful that the defender will recover in time for Saturday’s crucial encounter.

Team officials are said to believe the injury is not serious, but Guehi has limited time to prove his fitness before England’s quarter-final clash.

The 24-year-old has been a key part of England’s defence throughout the tournament, making his availability an important factor as the Three Lions seek a place in the World Cup semi-finals.
