Emmanuel Petit blasts Chelsea owners for Conor Gallagher decision

Former Chelsea midfielder Emmanuel Petit has strongly criticized the club’s owners for what he describes as a “bad decision” to sell Conor Gallagher to Atletico Madrid.

Gallagher is poised to finalize his transfer to Atletico Madrid after arriving in Spain on Monday. He will undergo medical examinations and complete the move this summer.

Petit has expressed his dissatisfaction with Gallagher’s departure from Stamford Bridge. Speaking to Gambling Zone, he remarked, “There is always something happening at Chelsea. It does make you want to pull your hair out sometimes; it doesn’t look like this ownership group has learned from any of the mistakes they have made.”

He continued, “I’m very frustrated with what is happening at the club. I have been worried for the last two years under this ownership; there have been so many bad decisions and so many changes.”

Petit also criticized the club’s spending and contract decisions, noting, “The Americans have spent over a billion, and what did they get? Some of these players have been given massive contracts without achieving anything in the game. How can Gallagher be worth £30 million if Manuel Ugarte is worth £60 or £70 million? It doesn’t make sense to me. I don’t get it. I don’t understand the decisions being made at the club.”
