EFCC reveals conditions for VeryDarkMan’s release

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has confirmed that popular social media activist Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), will be released once he meets his bail conditions.
EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, spoke to BBC News Pidgin on Monday, stating, “We will release him if he meets his bail conditions, and we will take the case to court as soon as possible.”
Oyewale explained that VDM’s arrest was in response to multiple petitions from individuals accusing him of misconduct.
“We arrested him to respond to a series of allegations raised against him by some petitioners,” he added.
VDM’s arrest, which took place in Abuja by EFCC operatives, has sparked widespread backlash online, with many accusing the commission of targeting dissent.
On Monday, youths took to the streets of Abuja, demanding his immediate release, according to DAILY POST.
