Edo APC leaders demand immediate redeployment of Obaseki loyalists from Government House

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State have called on Governor Monday Okpebholo to urgently redeploy staff members of the Government House who served under former Governor Godwin Obaseki’s administration.

The leaders, speaking through their representative, Momodu Adams, argued that retaining these staff members, many of whom are loyal to Obaseki, poses a security risk and undermines the new administration.

Adams expressed concerns over the loyalty of these civil servants, particularly Mrs. Edith Sede, the Permanent Secretary of Government House, who he claimed is a known Obaseki ally. He further accused Sede and other loyalists of obstructing the progress of Governor Okpebholo’s administration, particularly by allegedly leaking sensitive documents to PDP leaders, including Obaseki’s former Secretary to the State Government, Osarodion Ogie.

“We are worried,” Adams said. “Some of Obaseki’s loyalists are actively frustrating Okpebholo’s government by blocking key motions, leaking documents, and even organizing events in collaboration with PDP supporters.” He cited examples of staff, including cooks and protocol officers, who had remained in their positions and allegedly sabotaged Okpebholo’s media relations by withholding critical support for positive press coverage.

The APC leaders are demanding immediate action to redeploy these staff to restore stability and prevent further disruption to the new administration.
