Piers Morgan hits back at Megan Rapinoe, calls her a ‘fraud’ over Trump criticism

On Tuesday, March 18, controversial British broadcaster Piers Morgan slammed former U.S. international Megan Rapinoe after she called President Donald Trump “depraved” for his stance on transgender athletes in women’s sports.

Rapinoe, who is a vocal advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, criticized Trump’s executive order that effectively bans transgender athletes from competing in women’s sports at public institutions. Speaking with soccer publication MUNDIAL, the 39-year-old soccer star described Trump’s order as “cruel and depraved.”

In response, Morgan took to his X account to call Rapinoe a “fraud.” He tweeted, “Imagine thinking that anyone who questions biological men playing in women’s sport is ‘depraved.’” He followed up the tweet with a string of laughing emojis, adding, “Rapinoe is such a fraud.”

Trump’s executive orders require the federal government to officially recognize only two genders and include one titled ‘Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports.’
