Domenech calls Real Madrid a ‘small club’ for skipping Ballon d’Or gala
Former France manager Raymond Domenech has criticized Real Madrid, calling them a “small club” for their decision to skip the Ballon d’Or gala.
His comments come in light of the La Liga champions’ absence from the prestigious event in Paris, following news that their player, Vinicius Jr., did not win the award.
Domenech expressed his disdain, stating that Real Madrid’s choice reflects poorly on their character. “Real is said, and Real itself wants to be said, that it is a big club. Meanwhile, it turned out that it is a small club. Very small! What Real did is absolutely pathetic,” he said.
He further emphasized, “They showed a lack of respect for football, for the other participants in the gala, for the winners.”
