On Monday, May 5, 2025, famous Nigerian singer Davido spoke candidly about the striking resemblance between his twin son and his late son, Ifeanyi. The singer made this revelation during an appearance on Apple Music 1 with Ebro Darden, describing the resemblance as “scary.”
Reflecting on the tragic loss of Ifeanyi, Davido shared, “That type of loss made me be like, ‘I’m out.’ I am just going to chill, take care of my wife and the family, and get my head right.”
Ifeanyi, the singer’s first son with his wife Chioma, tragically passed away on October 31, 2022, at the age of 3 after drowning in his father’s swimming pool in Lagos State.
However, the couple found joy again in October 2023 when they welcomed their twins, a boy and a girl, in the U.S.
Davido continued, “To come back from that and be blessed with twins just shows that God is real. And the boy looks just like my late son. It’s scary. It is like literally him. We are like, ‘No, it’s him. He came back.’”
The powerful emotional connection between his twins and the late Ifeanyi has provided the family with a sense of healing and a reminder of life’s inexplicable blessings.
