Customs intercepts large cache of arms and ammunition in Lagos

On Thursday, February 13, 2025, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) reported a significant interception of arms and ammunition smuggled into the country. The value of the seized weapons has yet to be disclosed, but the discovery is seen as a major security concern.
The Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, is currently in Lagos to address the media at the Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone “A” in Ikeja. Further details on the seizure are expected to be shared in a press briefing.
