Cubana Chief Priest, Ubi Franklin deny rumoured fight in Abuja hotel

Nigerian socialite Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, and music executive Ubi Franklin have refuted rumours of a physical altercation between them at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja.
In a video posted on Instagram by fellow Davido associate Israel DMW, the pair appeared together in high spirits, laughing off the viral claims. “People can lie lie,” Israel said while filming from the front seat of a car. Ubi and Chief Priest were seated behind him, visibly amused by the situation.
The rumours, which spread across social media on Thursday, originated from a blog that alleged the duo got into a heated argument which escalated into a fight. According to the blog, bystanders had to separate them. It also claimed the altercation stemmed from Chief Priest’s alleged attempt to prevent Ubi Franklin from reentering Davido’s inner circle ahead of the singer’s upcoming white wedding in the United States this August.
However, in the video, the trio dismissed the reports as completely false. Israel mocked the narrative, saying, “They were saying CP did not want… Say Ubi dey find invite for wedding.”
Ubi Franklin had previously expressed deep admiration for Davido and Chioma in a heartfelt message before their wedding in June last year. He recounted how Davido entrusted him with managing Chioma’s career in 2018 and how their relationship evolved into a sibling-like bond. Ubi described Chioma as one of the kindest people he’s ever known and pledged continued support for the couple.
