Crisis worsens in Zamfara APC with fourth faction now emerging

The crisis in the All Progressive Congress Zamfara State chapter, has worsened as a fourth faction led by Aminu Sani Jaji, a member of the House of Representatives, representing Birinin Magaji/Kaura Namoda Federal Constituency, has emerged.

Recall that before the emergence of Jaji’s faction, former Governor, Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari, Minister of State, Defence, Bello Mohammed Matawalle, and Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa were leading three other factions.

Findings by DAILY POST reveal that Jaji has commissioned his own secretariat, appointing the state vice chairman as the acting state chairman of the party.

He insists that the state chairman and members of his EXCO have been suspended.

However, according to reports, all four factions claim that their secretariats are the authentic Zamfara State APC headquarters.

Recently, Marafa addressed journalists in Kaduna State, saying that he has his faction and secretariat in Zamfara State.

According to him, he could not join forces with former governors Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari and Bello Mohammed Matawalle who is now the Minister of State for Defense.

Yari gathered the leaders of the party in the state for reconciliation, but the meeting didn’t produce any result.

Few days after the meeting, Jaji commissioned the secretariat of his faction opposite the residence of the State Commissioner of Police in Gusau, the state capital.

With the deepening crisis in the party, many people query the APC’s chances in Zamfara State in the 2027 election.
