Controversial penalty, captain's brace help Man United rescue woeful performance
Manchester United managed to rescue a point with a 2-2 draw after an embarrassing outing at the Vitality Stadium against AFC Bournemouth yesterday, April 13.
Erik Ten Hag’s Man United side traveled to Bournemouth yesterday, and while Man United had the stars, the cherries were the ones who delivered the goods.
Bournemouth star striker Dominic Solanke opened the scoring in the 16th minute, but after wasting several chances to double the lead, Man United pounced on a chance in the 31st minute, finished by captain Bruno Fernandes.
The cherries took the lead again in the 36th minute when Justin Kluivert zipped a shot past Andre Onana.
A controversial penalty in the 65th minute, saw the Red Devils capitalize and pull level for the second time in the game.
This draw takes Manchester United down to 7th place, after Newcastle had thrashed Tottenham Hotspur 4-0 early on Saturday.
