Chelsea step up pursuit of Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike amid Premier League interest

Chelsea have intensified their efforts to sign Eintracht Frankfurt forward Hugo Ekitike, aiming to beat Premier League rivals Arsenal and Liverpool in securing the 22-year-old French striker.

Ekitike, who moved to Frankfurt permanently from Paris Saint-Germain last summer, scored 15 goals and provided eight assists in 33 Bundesliga appearances last season, attracting significant attention across Europe.

Both Arsenal and Liverpool have reportedly made initial enquiries about a potential bid for the attacker. However, according to L’Equipe, Chelsea have accelerated their move in recent hours to get ahead of their rivals.

The report adds that Ekitike is currently assessing his options after being ruled out of France’s European Under-21 Championship with a back injury.

The striker is tied to Frankfurt until June 2029, but Chelsea’s renewed push suggests they are confident of persuading the club and player to agree to a transfer.

This development comes shortly after Chelsea confirmed the signing of midfielder Dario Essugo from Sporting CP, highlighting their active approach in the summer transfer window.
