Bashir Ahmad claims Buhari’s infrastructure achievements outshine Obasanjo, Yar’Adua, and Jonathan combined

On Wednesday, February 26, 2025, Bashir Ahmad, Media Aide to former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, shared a bold statement on his X account, asserting that Buhari’s achievements in infrastructure surpassed those of former presidents Olusegun Obasanjo, Umaru Yar’Adua, and Goodluck Jonathan combined.

Ahmad’s comments came in response to a post from a pro-People’s Democratic Party account, which argued that Nigeria was last truly thriving under the leadership of Obasanjo, Yar’Adua, and Jonathan. Ahmad, however, dismissed this claim as “hilarious.”

He stated, “In terms of infrastructure, these three presidents combined can’t boast even a third of what President Buhari achieved in his 8 years. That is not even an opinion; that is a fact,” though he did not provide specific examples to support his claim.

During Buhari’s presidency from 2015 to 2023 under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ahmad argues that the former leader made major strides in infrastructure. In contrast, Obasanjo (1999–2007), Yar’Adua (2007–2010), and Jonathan (2010–2015) served under the People’s Democratic Party.
