Cabal in Tinubu’s goverment more dangerous than Buhari’s – Dalung
Solomon Dalung, a former Minister of Youth and Sports, has made a bold claim that the cabal surrounding President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration is more formidable and sophisticated than the one that existed during President Muhammadu Bello’s tenure. According to Dalung, Tinubu’s cabal is composed of highly experienced and informed individuals who have been entrenched in politics for a long time, making them more dangerous than any other political group he has encountered.
Dalung emphasized that this cabal possesses a unique set of qualities, including a deep understanding of governance and the intricacies of power. This, he believes, gives them a significant advantage in influencing the president’s decisions. He described them as gatekeepers who control access to President Tinubu, shielding him from the realities of governance and preventing important information from reaching him.
The former minister criticised the denial of cabals’ existence in Nigerian governance, saying it would be unjust to future generations. “It would be very, very unfair to posterity to deny the existence of such a dangerous political element that takes over power and pursues ulterior motives using the popular manifesto that was used to gain power.”
The former minister’s comments have sparked concerns about the influence of power brokers in the current administration and their potential impact on governance in Nigeria. Critics have long argued that the concentration of power in the hands of a few individuals can hinder the country’s progress and undermine democratic values.
