At least two Immigration officers were killed when suspected Boko Haram terrorists attacked Monguno Local Government Area of Borno State.
The incident occurred last Thursday, but reports were delayed due to poor telecommunication networks in the area. Monguno, located about 136 kilometers from Maiduguri, the state capital, lies in the heart of the Northern Borno Senatorial District.
Security sources said troops responded swiftly and repelled the terrorists, though the number of casualties on the attackers’ side remains unclear.
A military source, who confirmed the incident on Saturday, disclosed that the remains of the slain officers had been deposited in a hospital morgue, while their families have been informed.
