Bobrisky: VeryDarkMan refuses to honour EFCC invitation, gives reasons

On Wednesday, September 25, activist and social media personality Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan, explained why he will not comply with an invitation from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) regarding an allegation of corruption involving agency officials.

In a prior video, VeryDarkMan shared an audio recording he claimed was from social media figure Bobrisky, in which Bobrisky allegedly stated he was asked to pay N15 million to have a money laundering charge dropped.

Following this, the EFCC invited both VeryDarkMan and Bobrisky to its Lagos office to “assist investigators in uncovering the alleged bribery.”

However, VeryDarkMan stated that he would not attend the meeting in Lagos due to not residing there and uncertainty about his safety if he did. He suggested that the EFCC should instead invite them to their Abuja office.

“Before you (EFCC) invite someone like me, do a deep investigation on your officers first. When you get the results from your officers who handled Bobrisky’s file, then you can invite me,” he said.

He further criticized the EFCC for not ensuring Bobrisky remained incarcerated. “You are telling me to come to Lagos, and the headquarters of EFCC is in Abuja; it makes no sense. You should, instead, invite Bobrisky to Abuja and conduct your investigation.”

VeryDarkMan concluded, “Lastly, why I would not go to Lagos is that I don’t have N15 million to pay for anything. I don’t have any godfathers anywhere, and I don’t want to be framed. I don’t trust you, and I won’t go.”

Bobrisky has denied the claim of paying N15 million to have the money laundering charge dismissed, calling the audio recording fake.
