Beyoncé and Blue Ivy Carter win big at 56th NAACP image awards

Music icon Beyoncé and her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, have secured major wins at the 56th NAACP Image Awards, further solidifying their influence in music and film.

Beyoncé, already a 35-time Grammy winner, won Outstanding Female Artist and Outstanding Album for her groundbreaking country album, Cowboy Carter. The album, praised for blending country and R&B elements, has expanded Beyoncé’s musical versatility. She was also nominated for Outstanding Soul/R&B Song for her hit single 16 Carriages.

Meanwhile, 13-year-old Blue Ivy Carter earned her second NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance (Motion Picture) for voicing young Kiara in Mufasa: The Lion King. Directed by Barry Jenkins, the film has received praise for its storytelling and voice performances, with Blue Ivy’s role standing out as a key highlight.

The NAACP Image Awards, which celebrate the achievements of people of color in entertainment, mark another historic milestone for Beyoncé, who now holds a record-breaking 27 NAACP Image Awards, making her the most-awarded artist in the event’s history.

These wins follow Beyoncé’s triumph at the 2025 Grammy Awards, where she became the first Black woman to win Best Country Album and also took home Album of the Year for Cowboy Carter.

The 56th NAACP Image Awards will conclude with a live broadcast on February 22 from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, airing at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on BET and CBS. As Beyoncé and Blue Ivy continue to make waves in entertainment, fans eagerly anticipate their next projects.
