Bello Shagari urges calm as insecurity rises in Shagari LGA

Youth urged to stay peaceful and involved
Community leader and youth advocate Bello Shagari is calling for calm and unity as concerns over insecurity grow in Shagari Local Government Area of Sokoto State. In a recent statement, he encouraged residents—especially young people—to remain peaceful and support security efforts already underway.
“Our collective voice has been heard,” Shagari said, urging locals to cooperate fully with authorities. “The government is taking the necessary steps to protect us.”
Government is responding, says Shagari
Shagari pointed to increased government attention on the crisis, noting that the Deputy Governor of Sokoto State had recently visited the affected areas. He said both state and federal officials are now actively involved in efforts to restore peace.
Lasting peace depends on youth involvement
He emphasized that true peace will require unity, discipline, and active youth participation. “I urge everyone to avoid actions that could escalate tensions. With patience and resilience, we can bring peace back to Shagari,” he added.
Security presence increased on the ground
Security patrols have reportedly been intensified in the area to prevent further violence. Locals remain hopeful that the combined efforts of government and community leaders will soon stabilize the situation.
