Former Big Brother Naija Season 9 housemate, Nelly Mbonu, has said that fellow contestants Ozee and Ocee Mbadiwe—popularly known as the Mbadiwe Twins—did not deserve to be part of the reality show.
In a recent interview with Hip TV, Nelly criticised the twins’ presence in the house, claiming they failed to contribute anything remarkable during their time on the show.
She also alleged that their well-known surname influenced how other housemates treated them, suggesting they received undue respect based on their background.
“The Mbadiwe Twins’ surname made most housemates interested in them. They were respected because of the name. But that wasn’t a factor for me. I don’t care about names,” she said.
Nelly added that the twins “should have been evicted in the first week,” saying she struggled to understand their purpose on the show.
“To be honest, I feel like they were not supposed to be in Big Brother’s house. I don’t know—I just cannot say what they were really doing in there.”
While she clarified that she had no personal issues with them, Nelly admitted they often irritated her during their time together in the house.
“They merit to be on the show, but not Season 9,” she added. “I don’t have anything against them, but they really pissed me off.”
