Enugu: APC expels chairman, 8 others for misconduct

On Tuesday, February 25, 2025, the Enugu State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) expelled its chairman, Ugochukwu Agballah, and eight other members for gross misconduct.
The party stated that Agballah, along with what they described as “self-acclaimed executive members,” were expelled due to their consistent disobedience of court orders that prohibited them from acting as executives of the party.
The expulsion was announced in a statement signed by Alphonsus Onyeachonam Nwafor, the acting state chairman, and High Chief Charles-Solo Akor, the state publicity secretary. The statement listed the expelled members as: “Ugochukwu H. Agballah, Augustine Alumona, Jude Chinedu Aniogbo, Moses Emeka Eze, Sunday Ugwoke, Ugwu Christian Kanayo, Eze Chidiebere Johnson, Queen Charles, and Onyekachi T. Ezeagu.”
The statement emphasized that these individuals had disregarded a High Court ruling that restrained them from organizing or holding any meetings as part of the APC State Executive Committee (SEC) in Enugu State.
The APC further stated that Agballah and the expelled members had engaged in activities that were detrimental to the party’s reputation and unity in the state.
The party reaffirmed its commitment to accountability and ethical governance, declaring, “The integrity of our Party is non-negotiable. We will not allow individuals who undermine our mission and principles to remain within our ranks.”
