The Bayelsa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as its sole presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections.
The decision was announced at the end of the party’s 12th Expanded Stakeholders Meeting held Tuesday in Yenagoa, where party leaders praised Tinubu’s “transformational” policies and focus on the South-South region.

“These achievements show President Tinubu is committed to developing Bayelsa and the South-South,” the party stated.
Leaders say 2027 is about “consolidating gains”
Bayelsa APC Chairman, Chief Dennis Otiotio, said the meeting was to assess Tinubu’s performance and confirm he had done enough to earn full support moving forward.
“He has done well for Bayelsa people, and that’s why we’re backing him,” Otiotio said.
Former Bayelsa Governor Timipre Sylva also weighed in, saying the Bayelsa APC is stronger than ever, and thanked the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) for its support in strengthening the party.
National APC: “More governors are joining us”
Representing APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, Chief Emma Eneukwu, Deputy National Chairman (South), said Tinubu’s performance is already attracting defections.
“Because President Tinubu has done well, more governors and senators are dumping their parties to join APC,” he said.
According to party leaders, extending Tinubu’s mandate beyond 2027 is “essential” for completing key projects and maintaining political momentum in the South-South.
