Barcelona set to sign former Arsenal goalkeeper
Barcelona has reached an agreement with Wojciech Szczesny to join their team.
According to sports journalist Fabrizio Romano, Szczesny is expected to take the place of Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, who is out with a long-term injury after the match against Villarreal, which ended in a 5-1 victory for Barcelona on Sunday.
The 34-year-old goalkeeper will sign a one-year contract after successfully passing his medical tests.
Earlier, on August 27, Szczesny announced his retirement from professional football, shortly after parting ways with Juventus by mutual agreement.
Barcelona had also been considering other goalkeepers, including Loris Karius, Keylor Navas, and Claudio Bravo, a former player for the club who has also retired from football.
