Asake announces new album titled ‘money

Two-time Grammy-nominated Nigerian superstar Asake has announced the release of his fourth studio album titled Money. The revelation was made via a post on his official X account on Thursday, June 5, 2025.
The album’s title appears to draw from one of the artist’s widely recognized monikers, “Mr. Money,” a name that resonates strongly with his fans and has long been a central theme in his brand and music. His debut LP was titled Mr. Money With The Vibe, further reinforcing the persona.
Money will be Asake’s fourth full-length album in as many years and marks his fifth project since his explosive entrance into the mainstream with the 2022 EP Ololade Asake.
The new album follows the commercial triumph of his 2024 release Lungu Boy, which was named the best-selling album of the year by TurnTable Charts. The project debuted at No. 1 and maintained its position at the top for a record-breaking 15 weeks, making it Asake’s third consecutive album to achieve such a feat.
His previous works, Work of Art (2023) and Mr. Money With The Vibe (2022), also closed their respective years as the No. 1 albums in Nigeria. His consistent dominance earned him the title of Best-Selling Artist in Nigeria for 2024, an award he has now won for three consecutive years, setting a national record.
Since his breakout in 2022, Asake has cemented his place as one of Afrobeats’ most prolific hitmakers, with critics and fans alike praising his streak of chart-topping singles as one of the greatest runs in Nigerian pop this century.
2025 has also been a transformative year for the singer, who debuted a new aesthetic marked by full-body tattoos, a new hairstyle, and what he describes as a “military mindset”a term he used in a freestyle following his appearance at the 67th Grammy Awards.
With Money, Asake looks set to continue his unmatched consistency and dominance in Nigeria’s evolving music landscape.
