Arsenal activate plans to replace Thomas Partey as midfielder nears free agency

Arsenal have begun making moves to replace midfielder Thomas Partey, who is set to leave the club as a free agent this summer.

Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that Partey’s contract with the Gunners will expire at the end of the month, and he has yet to agree on a new deal. Romano also confirmed that Arsenal have opened talks with Brentford captain Christian Nørgaard as a potential replacement.

In a tweet on Wednesday, Romano stated:
“Thomas Partey, set to leave Arsenal as free agent at the end of the month – story from last week confirmed.
#AFC have already activated options to replace Thomas with Nørgaard talks ongoing with Brentford.”

The Ghanaian midfielder has recently been linked with Juventus, Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid, fueling speculation about his next destination. Arsenal’s swift action shows their intent to secure reinforcements ahead of the new season.
