APC chieftain tells Kwankwaso to apologise to Ganduje before joining party

‘Swallow your pride’

Kano APC stalwart Alhaji Faizu Alfindiki has urged Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to publicly apologise to former APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, if he’s serious about joining the ruling party.

Speaking in Kano on Sunday, Alfindiki said an apology would smooth Kwankwaso’s entry into the APC, arguing that his current approach has been misguided.

Ganduje will ‘accept him’

“Ganduje has a very large heart and is always willing to assist Kwankwaso, provided he chooses to accept him,” Alfindiki said. He criticised Kwankwaso’s political strategy, calling his reliance on former President Goodluck Jonathan for survival “an unrealistic route to stability.”

“What you’re struggling to secure from Otuoke is here in Kano. All you need to do is show remorse to Ganduje, who has moved beyond low-level politicking,” he added.

Defection rumours

Rumours of Kwankwaso’s defection to the APC have swirled for months, with party bigwigs — including President Bola Tinubu — courting the former NNPP presidential candidate. Although his allies have repeatedly denied the move, the NNPP’s tone recently softened after Kwankwaso’s close associate, Hon. AbdulMumin Jibrin Kofa, met with Tinubu behind closed doors.

Alfindiki stressed that APC’s strength in Kano doesn’t depend on Kwankwaso. “APC’s momentum in Kano is unstoppable, with or without him; ultimately, the decision rests with him,” he said.
