Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has announced that defender Ferland Mendy has signed a new contract with the club.
During his pre-match press conference ahead of the LaLiga match against Alaves on Tuesday, Ancelotti expressed his satisfaction with Mendy’s performance. He stated, “We are delighted with him; he has renewed his contract and he’s doing very well.”
Ancelotti praised Mendy’s defensive skills, noting, “Defensively, he is playing at a very high level. I don’t ask him to operate on the ball like other full-backs because we have a very strong left winger. He can also do the offensive work, but we don’t ask that of him.”
Real Madrid will approach the Alaves game with confidence after their recent 4-1 victory over Espanyol.
