Anambra Governor Soludo pays N50m fee for governorship campaign

Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has paid the mandatory N50 million permit fee required to conduct outdoor campaign activities ahead of the forthcoming governorship election.

The State Signage and Advertisement Agency (ANSAA) had announced three weeks ago that all governorship candidates and their parties must pay N50 million to obtain permits allowing them to engage in outdoor campaigns such as displaying branded vehicles, posters, vests, and other promotional materials across the state.

On Wednesday, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Soludo’s party, secured the permit when Dr. Alex Obiogbolu, Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, visited the ANSAA office with a bank draft to make the payment.

ANSAA Managing Director, Odili Tony Ujubuonu, praised the compliance, stating that the permit empowers APGA to carry out campaign activities across all 21 Local Government Areas in Anambra.

“This development reflects APGA’s preparedness to conduct a responsible and impactful campaign, fully aligned with ANSAA’s guidelines and signage standards,” Ujubuonu said.

Soludo is the fifth candidate to secure the permit after Paul Chukwuma of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), George Moghalu of the Labour Party (LP), Jeff Nweke of the Action Alliance (AA), and John Nwosu of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
