Again, Gunmen Attack Senator Natasha’s Family House

Gunmen have again attacked the family house of the Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, in Ihima, in the Okehi Local Government Area of the state.

The attackers were said to have been repelled by community vigilantes and concerned youths who prevented them from vandalising the house during the attack on Tuesday. The family house of the lawmaker was previously attacked in April.

One suspect was apprehended at the scene in connection to the attack.

According to sources, the suspect confessed to the crime and admitted that the recent attack was the third time the family house of the lawmaker was attacked.

The suspect was reportedly handed over to the police for further interrogation after a cutlass and charms were recovered from him while other suspects with dangerous weapons involved in the attack were still at large.

The senator’s media team confirmed the incident, saying, “We call on the public to remain calm and steadfast in the pursuit of justice.

“Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s commitment to truth and her tireless representation of her constituents should not be met with violence or intimidation.”

Efforts to speak with the state’s Police Public Relations Officer William Ayah proved abortive as his lines were not reachable as of press time.
