AFCON 2025: Tanzania confident ahead of Super Eagles and tough Group C – Ali

Tanzania’s head coach, Hemed Suleiman Ali, has expressed confidence in his team’s readiness to face the Super Eagles of Nigeria and their other Group C opponents at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The East African side has been drawn into a competitive group alongside former champions Tunisia and Uganda. While Tanzania enters the tournament as the lowest-ranked team in the group, Ali remains optimistic about their chances.

Speaking to Cafonline, Ali acknowledged the challenges his team will face but remained resolute: “We are ready. We saw who we are going to play with. I think it’s a tough group, but it’s tough for all of them. There is no easy group.”

The coach emphasized the importance of preparation: “If you have qualified for this stage of the competition, you have to prepare. We know who we are facing, and we know how we will prepare for them. There is no other way, we have to prepare well and represent our people well at this tournament.”

Tanzania will kick off their AFCON campaign with a match against Nigeria on Tuesday, December 23, at the Complexe Sportif de Fès, setting the stage for what promises to be an exciting tournament.
