Chelsea circles as Real Madrid keeper expresses desire to leave
Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin wants to leave the Spanish capital this window, and Chelsea is among the clubs rumored to be interested in the Ukrainian giant, according to journalist Romain Molina.
Chelsea is targeting competition for current No. 1 Robert Sanchez, and Lunin’s agent, Jorge Mendes, is trying to convince the 25-year-old to leave Madrid.
Lunin excelled last season, keeping 12 clean sheets in 31 appearances across competitions, after Real Madrid’s number one, Thibaut Courtois, was injured.
The Ukraine international was also the hero of the penalty shootout against Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals.
However, Lunin had to watch from the bench as Courtois reclaimed his number-one slot in the UEFA Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund.
Chelsea is reportedly keen on the Ukraine international, and the player is also willing to leave, according to Diario AS.
