Spain has knocked out the tournament host Germany from Euro 2024 thanks to a 2-1 win in Stuttgart on Friday, July 5.
Luis De La Fuente’s men took the lead in the second half after Dani Olmo lashed home Lamine Yamal’s low cross in the 51st minute.
The host didn’t find an equalizer until one minute left in regulation time, thanks to Florian Wirtz’s smart rebound volley.
With the game heading to penalties, Mikel Merino rose highest to head in Olmo’s cross in the 119th minute, sending his country to the semis.
Spain will now face either France for a place in the final.
