Craig David reveals how he went celibate to “heal”
British R&B singer-songwriter Craig David has revealed that he has abstained from sex for two years.
The 43-year-old singer explained that he has been celibate because he wanted to take a step back from intimacy to “heal his own issues.”
David added that abstaining from sex has also boosted his creativity.
“It’s been two years now for me [without sex]. But funnily, much as I was like, ‘Wow!’ to myself for the moment, [my] creativity has been on a 100, on a max, for those two years,” he stated in a recent interview with TMZ.
The ‘Fill Me In’ crooner said he hopes celibacy will “mentally” prepare him for his next relationship.
Last year, David said he was done with short term relationships after suffering from many traumas.
To get himself back inline, he is refraining from sexual relationships.
He believes that will help him get to a healthy place in time for his next relationship.
The star went on to say that he is hoping to find a partner that he can have “great deep conversations” with.
He also said he wants to be able to “laugh like crazy” and also enjoy “amazing sex”.
The singer rose to fame in 1999 after featuring on the single “Re-Rewind” by Artful Dodger.
David’s debut studio album, Born to Do It, was released in 2000, and he has since released five more studio albums.
