Real Madrid forces stalemate at the Allianz
Carlo Ancelotti’s men escaped defeat when they traveled to the Allianz Arena to face Thomas Tuchel’s Bayern Munich in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semifinal tie.
This game had everything except a red card, with two penalties were awarded. With one goal scored in the first half, all the excitement was packed into the second half of the game.
Vinicius Junior, unsurprisingly, opened the scoring for the Galacticos in the 24th minute, but Leroy Sane equalized in the 53rd minute.
Bayern then took the lead for the first time in the game when Harry Kane converted a penalty in the 57th minute to put the home side 2-1 up.
It took a while, but Madrid was able to find another goal through the same man in the 84th minute, converting his own penalty. Vinicius Jr tied the game up at 2-2.
Real Madrid will now host Tuchel’s men next week at the Santiago Bernabeu on May 9 for the second leg of the Champions League semifinal tie.
