Youri Tielemans scores brace as Belgium draws England
Belgium and Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans scored two goals against England, but ended up not on the winning side, as a late goal from Jude Bellingham tied the match.
The match was played at the Wembley Stadium yesterday, March 26.
Tielemans himself scored the first goal of the game in the 11th minute, but Brentford’s Ivan Toney equalized for England in the 17th minute through a penalty.
England thought they had taken the lead in the 28th minute through Jorrod Bowen, but it was ruled out by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR). Belgium then took the lead again in the 36th minute through Tielemans again.
It looked like Belgium was going to be the winner, but Real Madrid’s Bellingham scored in the 95th minute to make it 2-2.
Manchester United youngster Kobbie Mainoo saw his first international start.
Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice captained England.
Belgium was captained by AS Roma’s Romelu Lukaku. It also had popular faces like Arsenal’s Leandro Trossard, Manchester City’s Jeremy Doku, and Everton’s Amadou Onana.
