PDP governors call on Tinubu to step in and solve Osun local government crisis

On Thursday, February 20, 2025, the Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum (PDPGF) asked President Bola Tinubu to urgently help resolve the local government crisis in Osun State.
The forum, led by Governor Bala Mohammed, expressed serious concern about the recent political violence in the state, which resulted in lives lost and property damaged.
In a statement, Governor Mohammed urged President Tinubu to direct law enforcement agencies to take action right away to restore peace and stop further harm. He also called on the heads of the Department of State Service (DSS) and the police to act quickly.
“The violence in Osun is worrying, especially since Governor Ademola Adeleke warned about the possible breakdown of law and order,” Mohammed said. He praised the governor for his timely warnings, showing strong leadership before the situation got worse.
The PDP governors strongly condemned the use of violence by political players, saying it’s unacceptable in a democracy. “Violence is never the right way to solve political problems,” Mohammed stated, urging everyone involved to stop encouraging conflict.
The PDP Governors’ Forum believes that leadership should focus on serving the people, keeping them safe, and following the law. They also stressed that protecting people’s lives and property shouldn’t be about politics.
“The PDPGF hopes for a quick return to peace in Osun and calls for those responsible for the violence to be found and held accountable,” Mohammed concluded.
