Salah surpasses Thierry Henry to climb to seventh in all-time goalscoring list

Mohamed Salah has surpassed Thierry Henry in the Premier League’s all-time goalscoring chart after scoring in Liverpool’s 4-1 victory over Ipswich Town on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Anfield. The 32-year-old Egyptian forward netted his 176th Premier League goal, moving up to seventh place and edging ahead of Henry, who scored 175 goals in the competition.

Salah, who has been in exceptional form for Arne Slot’s league-leading Liverpool side this season, is now just one goal behind Chelsea legend Frank Lampard, who scored 177 goals during his career. His latest strike also means he is two goals ahead of Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak in the race for the Golden Boot this season. Additionally, Salah has contributed 13 assists so far.

The win against Ipswich Town kept Liverpool six points clear at the top of the Premier League, ahead of second-placed Arsenal. Salah’s goal has also secured his place as the second-highest-scoring foreign player in Premier League history, behind only Sergio Agüero, who scored 184 goals.

Alan Shearer remains the Premier League’s all-time top scorer with 260 goals.
