Felix Morka claims receiving over 200 death threats after Peter Obi’s comments

On Wednesday, January 8, Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), revealed that he has received over 200 death threats after remarks he made about Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP).

Morka made the claim during an appearance on Arise Television. He explained that since Obi accused him of threatening his life during an interview, he has received more than 400 threats, with 200 of them explicitly threatening to kill him.

“Peter Obi’s allegations that my words in that interview threatened his life have triggered serious consequences,” Morka said. “As of now, I have documented 400 threats, about 200 of which are explicit death threats. These are written threats that I will be submitting to law enforcement agencies.”

Morka shared that the threats contained graphic details about how individuals planned to harm him, including threats to shoot him and behead him.

In the interview, Morka had said, “Obi has crossed the line so many times” and added, “Whatever he has coming to him, he should manage it.” Obi, in response, said that since Morka’s comments, he has been receiving messages, including threats against his life and the lives of those close to him.

Morka clarified that his comment was a direct response to the question about Obi being labeled a “voodoo economist” and “prophet of doom.”
