Burna Boy, Wizkid, Tems earn major nominations at the 2025 NAACP Awards
On Wednesday, January 8, Nigerian music superstars Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Tems received prestigious nominations for the 2025 NAACP Image Awards, cementing their global influence in the music industry.
The 56th edition of the awards will take place on February 22 at the Pasadena Civic Centre in California, and it promises to be a star-studded event. Alongside these music giants, Nigerian actress Ayo Edebiri also garnered multiple nominations for her impressive performances.
Wizkid, who is widely recognized for his international success, earned two nominations for his collaboration with Brent Faiyaz on the song “Piece of My Heart.” He is nominated for Outstanding Duo or Collaboration and Outstanding International Song. Burna Boy’s collaboration with Usher on the track “Coming Home” earned them a nomination for Best Collaboration, while Tems was recognized with a nomination for Outstanding International Song for her song “Love Me JeJe.”
Ayo Edebiri, known for her versatility, received nominations in five categories, including Outstanding Voiceover and Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series.
Additionally, South African singer Tyla is nominated for Outstanding New Artist, highlighting the global appeal of African music talent.
