Amorim agrees with Rashford’s ‘new challenge’ comment

Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim, has responded to Marcus Rashford’s recent comment about being “ready for a new challenge” after being dropped from the squad that defeated Manchester City 2-1 on Sunday, December 15.

Rashford’s omission from the match has sparked speculation about his future at the club. Two days after the game, the forward expressed his desire for a new challenge amid uncertainties surrounding his role at Man United.

In his pre-match press conference ahead of Manchester United’s Carabao Cup quarter-final tie against Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday, December 21, Amorim acknowledged Rashford’s statement.

“He [Rashford] is right [for saying he needs a new challenge],” Amorim said. “We have here a new challenge, the biggest in football. We are in a difficult situation. I hope all my players are ready,” he added.
