In a recent interview with Pulse, popular singer Timi Dakolo opened up about how he met his wife, Busola, and how his car used to embarrass her early in their relationship.
Dakolo shared that he first met Busola at church and, although she wasn’t initially interested in a romantic relationship, he was determined to win her over. He revealed that at one point, she felt embarrassed when he picked her up in a branded Picanto, a car he won from the inaugural season of Idols West Africa in 2007.
“We became friends, but I started developing feelings for her. She wanted to friend-zone me, but I refused,” Dakolo recalled. “At one time, she used to be embarrassed whenever I picked her up with the branded Picanto. I told her, ‘Okay, don’t worry. I will shock you. Don’t look down on me.’ And I did.”
Dakolo also recalled how he persistently tried to win her heart, going so far as to drive her to and from work, despite her initial reluctance. They eventually got married in 2012 and now have three children together.
