Osun 2026: Adisa announces intention to run for governor under APC
Kabiru Adeniyi Adisa has officially declared his intention to contest the 2026 Osun State governorship election under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement, Adisa expressed his desire to lead Osun State, emphasizing his commitment to fostering a more prosperous future for the state. He outlined his vision for sustainable development, with a focus on inclusive growth as the cornerstone of his ambition.
A Chartered Accountant by profession, Adisa shared that his 20 years of active involvement in community development have deeply shaped his approach to governance. His priorities, he said, include providing scholarships, improving maternal and infant healthcare, and empowering the youth—key initiatives he believes will transform lives across Osun.
Drawing on his experience as a financial controller and in resource management, Adisa highlighted his readiness to take on the role of governor. “These experiences have positioned me as a capable leader to steer Osun toward inclusive development and economic stability,” he said.
Adisa also discussed Osun’s potential, emphasizing the state’s abundant mineral resources and rich tourism offerings. “My administration will leverage these assets to fund social projects and promote sustainable development,” he stated.
His strong connections with foreign donors from the United States, Europe, and Arab nations, he added, would help secure the resources needed for the state’s advancement.
Under the slogan “Together for a Progressive Osun,” Adisa vowed to unite the state, overcoming political and social divides to deliver transparent and effective governance. He committed to addressing key issues in healthcare, education, infrastructure, and fair resource distribution.
With a solid background in financial planning, project management, and securing affordable funding, Adisa believes he is well-equipped to turn Osun into an industrial and economic hub. “My proven ability to attract investment and create jobs will revitalize our economy and improve the lives of our citizens,” he said.
Adisa emphasized his deep roots in Osun’s communities, both rural and urban, and his ongoing commitment to supporting the most vulnerable. “Through initiatives like providing mobility aids, clothing, and academic materials, I’ve consistently shown my commitment to uplifting those in need,” he concluded.
